Time Magazine and Apple Inc. have had a long row over iPad magazine subscription, but its finally resolved. While Apple wanted magazine subscriptions for iPad to be channeled through its iTunes store, Time insisted that its people with its print magazine subscriptions should get free access to iPad version of Time magazine.
Publishers in Europe and America have been wrangling with Apple because Apple has refused them to offer free online magazine subscriptions to their print subscribers. Apple gets a whopping 30% of the price a subscriber pays for the iPad version. It is hoped that the resolution of impasse between Apple and Time regarding online magazine subscriptions will help in finding a way to solve the conflict between Apple and publishers.
